Sometimes Loyalty Isn't a Good Quality

Have you ever noticed that companies are willing to offer you a pretty good deal to do business with them but the longer you stay with them the crappier service you get. It seems to me that the more loyal a customer is the more you're going to get ripped off.

I'm thinking mostly AT&T from my experience. My parents have been loyal customers for years and not only do we have our land lines through them we do our internet and cellphones through them as well. Just recently I've started paying more attention to the phone bill and I couldn't believe how much it was the first time I saw it.

We used to get our second line for like $10 a month and one day they just decided to bump that up to I think it was $19. Not a huge deal but you take that extra $9 and figure out how much extra you would be spending in a year....$108. I don't know about you guys but I'm sure my dad could find somewhere else to spend that extra money.

Just last month they stopped our internet and when I called about it I was told it was because nobody had payed the bill. Kind of unusual my dad keeps pretty good track of his bills and when every things due. Unless he doesn't have the money every things always paid in full and on time.

When I told my dad that they messed with the internet because he hadn't paid the bill he was as surprised as I was. He had never received a paper bill for the month. Turns out that somehow it had been switched and they were sending our bills through email. Well everyone in my house knows that my dad pays the bills and my dad can hardly work a computer let alone email. There's no way he switched it and my mom couldn't have done it because she loves having the phone and internet and in order to keep that my dad has to get that paper bill.

When we finally received the paper bill they were about to turn our phones off. By that time my dad had already paid all the other bills and with work being slow right now he didn't have the money to pay the phone bill.

They messed up we didn't get the bill on time and now our phones don't work. Awesome isn't it!

Another company that hard core rips you off if you stay loyal is Comcast. Ever see those deals on TV where you get a great deal on TV and internet if your just signing up. Well stay with the company for awhile and that goes right out the window. You'll be paying way more in no time.

Why are companies so interested in gaining more customers when they don't provide good service to the customers they already have?

Get Out of That Funk

Ever since the economy started getting bad people seem to be in this funk and everybody I know seems to be depressed. Snap out of it!

You're the only one who can change the way things are going in your life. If you aren't happy with something right now change it. Don't just wait it out because chances are its not going to fix itself.

*Unhappy with your body...join a gym. I recently joined XSport Fitness and so far I'm pretty happy with it. It's a nice place, open 24/7, its a bigger gym,  they have tons of equipment, pool, resistance pool, hot tub, tanning, and salon, its just and all around nice place and its decently priced. It costs me $35 a month but I think its well worth it. Don't have $35 to spare there's always Cardinal Fitness which isn't as big, no pool or salon, but still a decent amount of equipment and costs only $20 a month. If you don't have money to hit the gym you can always go walk outside, play a sport, do something physical. There's also those cut outs in magazines such as Prevention and Woman's World that will put a nice little routine together for you.

*Lost your job....get off you but and go find another one.  I know that there's been a major decrease in job openings lately but that doesn't mean there isn't anything or that its not worth trying. Check the classifieds if there isn't anything there your interested in or have the skills for go out and actually walk into places to see if they're hiring. Ask your friends after all its not what you know its who you know. Start your own business I'm sure it can be a truly rewarding experience if you have the knowledge and drive to do something like that. I'm not saying work a job you absolutely hate I would never advise anybody to do that because I myself would never do that. I'm simply saying there's always options.

*Can't pay the bills...you don't have to have the best of everything. Can't afford digital cable with 5000 channels switch to basic cable or even try going without tv. As long as you have power and a DVD player you'll be set. You don't need the fastest internet on the planet switch to a slower connection and save a few bucks or you could always go back to the land line connection.  If you have a cell phone and a land line think about how much you actually use that land line...is it really necessary? If it is ask your provider what kind of deal they can work out for you. Most companies are willing to work with you as long as their getting your money. Stop eating out so much. If you don't feel like cooking you can always make all your meals at the beginning of the week and then freeze them until your ready for them.

*No social life...whether it be lack or friends or lack of money there's always a solution. Lets start with lack of friends..go out and meet people. Try a social networking site or places like meetup.com. If you are making friends with people on the internet be safe about it. Meet in a public place and if its possible bring someone along with you the first time. Now if it's a lack of money causing your social life to dwindle there are so many ways to fix this. Have a girls night, invite your girlfriends over and have everyone bring something fun for the group, maybe a movie, a snack, a game or something fun like that. Play bored games they where fun when you were a kid what changed? Rent movies instead of going to the movies and if you're really broke you can rent DVDs from the library at no charge. Think like a kid they're always having friends over without going out or spending any money and they have a blast.

Every problem you face always has a solution sometimes you just have to dig a little deeper to find one.

Election Day!

Everybody who is able to vote should do so today. If you don't take part and voice your opinion you have no right to complain about the president or any of the mistakes he is making. Don't vote, don't like something....keep it to yourself.

I hope Obama wins!!! and I'll be voting today for sure along with my friends and family.

Growing Up

Tonight was Halloween and what do you do on Halloween....TRICK OR TREATING! So I was amazed to find that this Halloween not very many people participated in this tradition.

My friend and I got all dressed up and it took us forever. After getting all ready I was pretty excited to get started collecting candy but unlike most Halloweens before people didn't seem to friendly. About half the houses we went to gave us dirty looks, like we were to old to be trick or treating. I couldn't believe it! Is it written somewhere that I'm not aware of that you have to be like 7 and under to trick or treat?

Why do adults seem to have such a problem when older kids want to trick or treat? Are we hurting you? If you have a problem with us trick or treating put a sign on your door or something...don't just stand there and scowl because we're having more fun than you are.

So grown  ups.....Don't like it? DONT LOOK!!!!! There is no reason you should have any problem with older kids trick or treating! I fully intend on trick or treating until I die and when I get really old..like wrinkled I'll just wear a mask!

Lately I've realized that being a grown up is kind of overrated. Lets see what you get when you become a grown up...
  • You no longer get student discount tickets at the movies
  • You have to pay bills
  • You can't turn to your parentals when you need extra spending money
  • Your too old for the kids lunch menu but to young for the senior citizen discount
  • You loose that ability to find the joy in the little things
  • You have to go to work
  • You don't have much time for your friends
It almost seems like adults simply forget how to be kids. Being a kid is amazing and you should never take it for granted. Live every day as if it was your last!
